P11D Organiser Installation Options for new installations

Although the P11D Organiser can be installed in one of two ways, we would ALWAYS recommend that it is installed on a network share/NAS/server, however if required, it can be installed on a stand alone PC. A network installation is always superior - it allows for multi-user access, means that PC upgrades and changes will have no effect on the existing data, and also ensure that corporate IT policies handle backup of data.

Before you start...

You will require full administration rights for the local machine and to know the location where the installation is to be made if different (installing onto a NAS/File Server/etc.).

Option 1 - Installing the P11D Organiser on your Server or PC

The P11D Organiser is installed onto a Network Attached Storage (NAS) Device, File Server, shared drive, etc. and each client runs the software from that location. This will require a Workstation Installation procedure to be run on the additional machines wishing to run the application.

The video below will guide you through the installation steps. Alternatively, you can use the written guide for more detail.

Please install the P11D Organiser by following the steps below:-

1. Start - Double Click the "Setup.exe" that you have downloaded and extracted from the zip file. The link will have been provided as part your welcome email.

2. Welcome screen - Select "Next" to continue

3. Licence Agreement - Click "Accept licence agreement" to agree to the terms and conditions (option to view) then select "Next" to continue.

4. P11D Organiser Installation Options - Choose the option that applies to your installation needs. 'Standalone' will install just the P11D Organiser software onto your system, 'Networked' will install the P11D Organiser software to a server for multiple workstations to access and use.

5. Select Destination Directory - You can select the destination where the application is to be installed, if prior to this you selected a local install,  this will be in your C:\ drive. If this is for a network install, you should locate a folder to which all potential users will have full access. In this example I have created 'C:\network\P11D'

6. Client Install - The shared part of the system will be installed. If you plan on running the software from the computer you are running the installation on then you will need the client tools also.

6a. If you are not intending to use the P11D Organiser software yourself then select the option “No, do not setup this machine”, then select “Next” to continue.

6b. If you are intending to use the P11D Organiser software yourself, select the option “Yes setup this machine”, then click “Next” to continue.

7. Start Installation - Select “Next” to start the installation process

The software will then install, this little window should appear showing the install progress.

8. Installation Completed - Select “Finish” to complete the installation process once complete. The installation process will have created a P11D Organiser folder on the user’s desktop containing a shortcut to the application to launch the system from the correct installation location. The user’s PC will also have a new program entry accessible using the Windows Start bar.
