Background
When you come to send out your P11D information to employees, as this is financially sensitive information, the P11D Organiser attempts to make a connection to your email system (either Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace) via a secure connection called OAuth (actually OAuth 2.0).
This secure connection is necessary as the emails that get sent to employees need to come from within your corporate edge - they need to be from a trusted, known source, and ideally from the payroll team mailbox or someone within finance.
App Details
We sometime get asked for more details on what access the P11D Organiser is requesting and confirmation of how the data is used:
Label | Description |
---|---|
App Identity | The P11D Organiser application is an application that distributes HMRC P11D information to employees of your company in-line with HMRC's recommendations. |
What does P11D Organiser do with the data | The P11D Organiser will use your email account to send emails on your behalf (or on behalf of designated shared mailboxes) to the email addresses that you have stored in the P11D Organiser specifically for the distribution of benefits data. |
How does the P11D Organiser enhance user functionality | The P11D Organiser streamlines the distribution of benefits and expenses data to your employees by using OAuth2 to link to your email account. By linking your account, you enable the P11D Organiser to securely send mail without the need for the storage of any usernames and passwords. |
Description of the content, context, or connection to the P11D Organiser | The P11D Organiser uses a 'restricted scope' (email sending) to enable the distribution of benefits data to your employees. No other data is collected or maintained, and the connection will ONLY be used for the designated purpose. |
