Hosted/SaaS Replication and Backup

To guarantee data security and availability on the hosted platform, we run systems in two geographically separate data centres, both within the Microsoft Azure infrastructure (UK South and UK West data centres).

Data Backup

UK South is the main data centre from which customer data is backed up every 5 mins to the UK West data centre. Each data centre uses symmetric AES256 encrypted storage devices.

We run ASR (Azure Site Recovery), which is built for disaster recovery, and it keeps a rolling window of recovery points, rather thana long history.

• Retention window: 24 hours with a maximum of around 15 days.
• Crash-consistent points: generated every 5 minutes, so roughly 288 over a 24-hour window.
• App-consistent snapshots: every 4 hours by default (configurable), so about 6 per 24 hours.
