If the Workstation Repair article has not fixed the OLE 1426 error, you may need to manually register and OCX file.

MSCOMCT2.OCX is a 32 bit object library for Windows, and being a 32 bit library it is not included with 64 bit versions of Windows and is not compatible with 64 bit versions of Office. It may however be installed in 64 bit versions of Windows for use with 32 bit versions of Office.

The OCX file is linked at the bottom of this artcle and you need to download this before moving through the steps in this article.

Windows 64 bit
First we need to open a command prompt:

Right click and select Run as Administrator (even if you are the administrator of the PC)

The Window should open to the folder C:\Windows\system32 as shown in the next illustration.

In that command window, type regsvr32 "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCT2.OCX" and press Enter. 

You should be see a message that the registration has been successful.
